We’ll continue attracting local, foreign investors to boost economy – Aiyedatiwa

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has announced that his administration will continue to attract local and foreign investments to boost the state’s economy.

Aiyedatiwa’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, stated that the governor made this announcement on Wednesday during the commissioning of the Ondo State-owned Sunshine House in Victoria Island, Lagos State.

Managed by the Ondo State Development and Investment Promotion Agency (ONDIPA), the project was initiated by the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and completed by the Aiyedatiwa administration. Located near Eko Atlantic City, the project aims to generate additional revenue for the state government.

Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasised that the commissioning of the project fulfills his promise to sustain the legacies of the late Akeredolu, whom he described as a visionary and a man of integrity. He noted that the old structure, inherited from the defunct Western Region, was outdated and unattractive to investors.

This prompted the state government, through ONDIPA, to construct a modern building that represents a new generation.

This development, Aiyedatiwa added, demonstrates that Ondo State is serious about business and ready to offer incentives to attract local and foreign investors.

He also highlighted the state’s commitment to fostering industrial growth and enhancing infrastructure, including road networks and port development, to support business operations.

Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of ONDIPA, Gbenga Badejo, described the project as a symbol of development and a revenue driver for the state, commending the government’s vision and commitment to creating a business-friendly environment.

Badejo noted the project’s investment value of approximately N3.3 billion, featuring seven floors, a brand-new office building, and facilities including kitchenettes, a terrace, a reception, a gate house, a generator house, and a waste management system.

The project developer, Akintola Oladejo, highlighted the seamless transition between the late governor and Aiyedatiwa, who completed the project without issues. He affirmed the project’s solidity and benefit to end users.

A former governor of Ekiti State, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, reflected on his tenure and the significant developments since then, expressing a desire for Ekiti to secure similar benefits.

Adebayo commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for continuing the legacy projects of the late Akeredolu.
