Which of the outfits is your best? The first outfit is a green aso-oke gown with embroidered floral design. This single act of creativity popped the whole outfit out. The design features the mint green colour alongside the red colour depicting a rose flower. The comedian aligned the colour red with her accessories- red purse, beaded necklace and bracelet. However, her mint green glossy shoe is standpoint on its own though it has a darker shade than the outfit.

The second outfit was a combination of gold and brown colours. The colour combination suits Kiekie’s skin such that she needed just little effort to shine bright with her outfit. Her gold clutch purse is her something chic and simple. The gele paired with this outfit looks like a damask, a material known for its hardcoreness and patterned designs. I want to think that Kiekie has a thing for glossy heels, she rocked a gold glossy heels with this outfit.

For her third look, she rocked a monochromatic look with a light shade of pink. She followed the detail of the colour pink right to her jewelries. The pink aso oke dress has silver glittering designs on it and to complement that look, Kiekie wore silver bracelets and rings.

You cannot be a Yoruba woman and not have a boubou gown. This type of outfit gives you a rich aunty vibes and for Kiekie’s fourth look, she wore a boubou look. To accentuate this look, the celebrity chose a green necklace and earrings. That was a bold step that elevated the look from ordinary to elegant and simple.

The predominance of Aso oke in Yoruba cultural looks

Yoruba folks is known for their love for aso oke or ofi. For the fifth look, Kiekie is wearing a single aso oke gown coupled with a headgear of the same colour and material. The outfit has silver beadings which complemented her adornments.

Finally, save the best for the last. This outfit bears resemblance to the modern Igbo bridal style. The highlight of the outfit is the leaf-like design at the torso area. She also styled it with a metallic gele. The skit-maker also matched the outfit with silver adornments. This outfit has similar comparison with one of Sharon Ooja’s bridal looks.

Kiekie is a resistent fashion force in this age. She has shown prowess in styling and making fashion statements in various outfits ranging from cultural to modern outfits. And this effort is recognised internationally. Last week, she was invited to Carson, California for the Black History and Lifestyle event to speak on the subject, ‘Funding Creativity and Culture ‘.
