Mohamed Salah has set a Premier League record by becoming the player with most goals in the opening match round of a season.
Salah, who also now has most matchday 1 goal involvements (14) in Premier League history, scored Liverpool’s second against Ipswich Town in the early kick-off on Saturday as the Reds ran out 2-0 winners.
His goal at Portman Road was his ninth on the opening weekend of a Premier League campaign.

Before the game, he was level on eight goals in Matchweek 1 alongside Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney and Alan Shearer.
Salah completes 350 matches for Liverpool
Interestingly, Salah has also emerged as the 47th player to complete 350 matches for Liverpool.
He reached the milestone in Liverpool’s league opener against Ipswich Town on Saturday.
His goal and assist for Diogo Jota during the game ensured Liverpool grabbed all three points. The Reds’ victory will please new manager Arne Slot as the Dutchman kicks off his era with the Merseyside club.
