Despite this, Barcelona maintained pressure, and Robert Lewandowski restored their lead in the 75th minute. The Polish striker capitalised on a well-crafted move involving Raphinha and Pedri to secure the win.

Lewandowski, who had also scored twice in Barcelona’s previous 2-1 victory against Valencia, continued his strong form.

Athletic Bilbao, missing their first-choice and backup goalkeepers due to injury, fielded third-string keeper Álex Padilla.

The encounter featured seven players from Spain’s Euro 2024-winning squad, adding to the excitement of the encounter.
