Crawley Town FC officially announces signing of Super Eagles defender Tanimu

Crawley Town Football Club has confirmed the signing of Super Eagles defender Benjamin Tanimu from Tanzanian outfit Singida Black Stars.

The 22-year-old joins the EFL League One side for an undisclosed fee on a two-year contract.

Tanimu was born and raised in the ancient city of Benin City, Nigeria. Due to his diligence and commitment, the player’s footballing journey has attained new heights in recent years.

His career started at local football clubs in Benin City, going on to play for Nigerian top-flight league club Bendel Insurance.

But the highly-rated defender recently caught the eye of the Nigerian national team. He made his debut appearance for the Super Eagles in March.

The Reds have now secured Benjaminā€™s services from Tanzanian Premier League side Singida Black Stars. This signing highlights their ambition to strengthen their squad with promising talent.

He will link up with his new teammates in the coming weeks.

Crawley Town FC lost their most recent match 0-3 to Barnsley FC at the Broadfield stadium on Saturday.

Barnsley recently signed Nigerian midfielder Kelechi Nwakali who was an unused substitute during the encounter. Nwakali captained Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets to U17 World Cup glory in 2015.
