The latest spat began in September when Wizkid teased a special announcement for Nigeria’s Independence Day (October 1). Shortly after, Davido also promised a major reveal on the same date. On October 1, Davido shared a teaser of a new track on Instagram, captioning it, ‘New song loading. Happy Independence, Nigeria.’

Hours later, Wizkid took to X (formerly Twitter), seemingly responding with, ‘Beg me, just like… Pus** boys are dropping mids again! Una don tire! Make una go rest small!’Fans immediately fueled the drama, interpreting Wizkid’s post as a direct jab at Davido.

The rivalry, marked by subtle digs and public clashes, has continued to dominate conversations, despite numerous reconciliation attempts. Fans remain captivated, wondering if the two stars will ever collaborate musically.

Social media was set ablaze after an alleged leaked audio recording surfaced of Bobrisky discussing his six-month jail experience. In the recording posted by VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky claimed that the EFCC took N15 million to drop money laundering charges against him and that he spent his sentence in a VIP section.

He also mentioned receiving calls from human rights lawyer Femi Falana and his son, musician Falz, who allegedly contacted him about a potential presidential pardon. NRTC WEEKLY gathered that these explosive allegations have sparked multiple investigations, with Bobrisky, Falz, the EFCC, and Falana all denying the claims.

The Nigerian public is closely watching to see how the drama unfolds, especially given the personalities involved, who are known for defying societal norms.

Politics: Shettima at the 79th UNGA

At the recently concluded 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in September, Vice President Kashim Shettima made a notable impact while representing Nigeria. In his address as seen by NRTC WEEKLY, Shettima reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to global peace, security, and sustainable development.

He emphasised the nation’s role in fostering peace in West Africa and addressing pressing issues like terrorism, extremism, and climate change. The Vice President also highlighted Nigeria’s efforts to diversify its economy, with a focus on agriculture, manufacturing, and renewable energy to create jobs for its growing population.

NRTC WEEKLY learned that Shettima called for stronger international partnerships, urging developed nations to collaborate more with developing countries to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

His speech resonated with delegates worldwide, reinforcing Nigeria’s position as a key player on the global stage.

Sports: Manchester United’s decline

Many fans have voiced their discontent, calling for the sacking of coach Erik ten Hag. As Manchester United prepares to face Aston Villa this weekend, tensions are high, and the club’s future seems uncertain.

NRTC WEEKLY gathered that for the club to regain their former glory, the team will need to address internal issues, make strategic changes, and rebuild a squad capable of competing at the highest level.

Education: ASUU Strike looms

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has once again threatened an indefinite strike, casting a shadow over Nigeria’s education sector. This comes amid ongoing negotiations with the federal government regarding unpaid allowances, improved university funding, and other unresolved issues.
