President Bola Tinubu has extended warm birthday wishes to a renowned broadcaster and Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on the occasion of her 62nd birthday.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President commended Dabiri-Erewa for her dedication to national service and her unwavering commitment to building a better Nigeria through her various public roles.
Reflecting on her illustrious career, President Tinubu recalled how Dabiri-Erewa first gained national recognition as a broadcaster with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), where she distinguished herself as an authority on human-interest stories.
Her work as the presenter of NTA’s weekly Newsline programme was marked by flair, empathy, insight, and credibility, making her a household name.
The President further praised Dabiri-Erewa for her contributions beyond the newsroom, particularly in her efforts to bridge the gap between Nigeria and its diaspora.

He highlighted her long-standing public service, which includes her tenure as a Member of the House of Representatives, where she chaired the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs, her role as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, and her current leadership at NiDCOM.
President Tinubu commended her tireless advocacy for the rights of Nigerian migrants and her efforts in promoting investment and business opportunities between Nigeria and its diaspora.
He emphasised that her exemplary service continues to make the nation proud.
In addition, the President recognized Dabiri-Erewa’s role as a trailblazer for women in politics, noting that her relentless dedication, optimism, courage, and pursuit of excellence have inspired many Nigerian women to pursue leadership positions in public life.
As he wished her continued success, President Tinubu prayed that Almighty Allah would bless her with many more years of good health and service to the nation.
