Lagos govt compensates 150 landowners for acquired properties

The Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday presented cheques to 150 beneficiaries as compensation for lands acquired for developmental projects.

Mr Sanwo-Olu revealed this in a statement on his X page.

He said the symbolic public presentation underscored his governmentā€™s commitment to fair compensation and inclusive development in the state.

Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted that the compensations align with the stateā€™s broader goal of fostering community involvement in projects that serve the public good.

ā€œThis gesture reflects our dedication to fairness and emphasizes the importance of community participation in developmental initiatives that benefit Lagos residents,” he stated.

The compensations he said are tied to key infrastructure projects aimed at improving urban mobility and enhancing the overall quality of life in Lagos.

The governor reiterated that these initiatives go beyond mere infrastructure development, symbolising the governmentā€™s ongoing commitment to the progress and transformation of Lagos State.
