Instagram video makers finally have a new way with which they can experiment with content. It plans to launch ātrial Reelsā in which users can post Reels that ignore their followersā home screens and are suggested to other individuals.
Despite many Instagram creators grumbling that Meta is not letting them show their content to followers, this might not initially strike you as a valuable tool. However, in a blog post published earlier this week, the firm states that trial Reels was developed as an application in response to the needs of creators who have indicated that they feel nervous posting clips that may not be well-received. Meta explained that the new tool was designed to assist creators wanting to try out different things and āget a glance at how your content will be received.ā

Now, creators will be able to turn on a ātrialā switch before sharing a video on the platform. These Reels will not be visible on a creatorās main feed and will be suggested to accounts that are not followers ā Reels wonāt be seen in friends feed in the same way creators donāt know if a follower will come across a particular video somewhere else in the Meta app, for instance in DMs.
At the 24-hour mark, the creator can come back and see analytics on the performance of the video such as the total number of views, shares, likes, and comments. According to Meta, this type of ātrialā content may actually take longer to āstickā than other posts because it wonāt initially be seen by an accountās followers and could be helpful for creators who would rather post in a less high-stakes manner.
