Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has called on all stakeholders to ensure the conduct of a free, fair, and peaceful local government election across the state.
He urged citizens to participate actively while adhering to electoral guidelines to promote a transparent democratic process.
The governor who had earlier declared Friday as a work-free day for public servants in preparation for the election scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 18, 2025, said the decision was made to enable public servants to travel to their respective communities and exercise their civic duties during the election.

The election, organised by the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC), is expected to see residents elect leaders who will oversee the administration of the stateās local government councils.
The declaration of a work-free day is part of the governmentās efforts to encourage voter participation and ensure a smooth electoral process.
