The Nigeria Police Force has recorded significant successes in its ongoing efforts to combat crime, marking a notable achievement through intelligence-driven policing across various states.
Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Police spokesperson disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
On January 18, 2025, operatives from the Kogi State Police Command successfully intercepted a group of armed bandits planning an attack on a forest in Budon, Kogi State.
The operatives engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle, overpowering them. One bandit was neutralized, and four others were arrested.
In addition, one AK-47 rifle, two magazines, 30 rounds of live ammunition, and two motorcycles were recovered.
On the same day, a distress call alerted authorities to an impending bandit attack on Ruwan Doruwa Village in Katsina State.

Police operatives, in collaboration with other security agencies, responded swiftly. In a subsequent clash, seven bandits were neutralized, and the remaining members of the gang fled, abandoning 109 livestock, believed to have been rustled.
