Beatrice Ekweremadu, wife of former Nigerian Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, has reportedly been released from a UK prison and is now back in Nigeria.
According to reports on Wednesday, Beatrice arrived in the country on Tuesday.Recall that she, her husband, and a medical doctor were convicted of organ trafficking by a UK court in March 2023.
Following a six-week trial at the Old Bailey, they were found guilty of facilitating the travel of a young man to the UK for exploitation purposes.
In May 2023, Ike Ekweremadu was sentenced to nine years and eight months in prison, while Beatrice received a four-year and six-month sentence.

Her release has sparked speculation, as she has not completed her full sentence.
It remains unclear whether she was granted a pardon or released under special circumstances by UK authorities.
