The entertainment world lost one of its notable icons, DMX, on April 9, 2021. He was a talented U.S rapper and actor who passed on at the age of 50. His death occurred five days after he suffered a heart attack and was admitted at White Plains Hospital in White Plains, New York.
Those who knew him recall his great works and the impact he made with his music. In his lifetime, DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, gathered many fans with his fantastic expression of music.
Tributes have trailed the death of the ace musician. His family who was by his side while he was on life support till he died had this to say about him.
āāHe was a warrior who fought till the very end. Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever. He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. We appreciate all of the love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our brother, father, uncle and the man the world knew as DMX.”
DMX, aka Dark Man X, was a top hip-hop performer who worked alongside artists such as LL Cool J, Ja Rule, and JAY-Z. He was notable for songs like Party Up (Up in Here) and X Gonā Give It To Ya which topped the charts. Besides being a music star, DMX graced the movie world featuring in movies such as Romeo Must Die, Cradle 2 the Grave, and Exit Wounds. He got his stage name from the name of a drum machine used in rap tracks.

Born in Mount Vernon, New York in 1970, the father of 15 had a record of drug abuse for years. This necessitated him to spend some time in rehabilitation. Likewise, he had served jail sentences on offences that range from reckless driving, weapons and drug possessions, and animal cruelty.
The rap star took music as a passion. He lived for his art. More so, he ran with the vision to make a name for himself with his talent. Tribute has been pouring in from across the world by numerous celebrities who have paid their tributes on social media.
DMX will be remembered for his great works. May his soul rest in peace.
