Nigerians celebrate as Ndidi and Iheanacho win the FA Cup

Ndidi

“Success has many family members” is a phrase that many Nigerians are familiar with. On Saturday, May 15, Super Eagles players, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho made history when they won the English FA Cup with their football club, Leicester City.

It was the first time the club would win the FA cup since it was founded 137 years ago. Whilst there were many fans also supporting the opposing team, the majority of Nigerians rooted for Leicester for the sake of their two countrymen. The winning team only needed one strike from Youri Tielemans to clinch the title at Wembley.
