Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to put unity above personal ambition as the party moves closer to unveiling its timetable for the 2027 primaries.
Addressing party stakeholders yesterday, in Ore during a senatorial district meeting, the governor stressed that while individual aspirations were legitimate, the party’s overriding priority remained securing a second term for President Bola Tinubu.
With contests looming for legislative seats, governorships and the presidency, Aiyedatiwa cautioned against the divisions that often trail party primaries.
He urged aspirants to remain loyal to the APC, regardless of the outcome of internal contests.
“I know many of you have ambitions,” he said. “But we must not lose sight of our collective goal — the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. Stay committed to the party, whether you emerge as candidates or not. Everyone’s time will come.”
Drawing from his own political journey, Aiyedatiwa reflected on past disappointments to underline the value of patience and loyalty.
