Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen continued his impressive form on his return to club football with a hat-trick in Napoli’s 6-1 destruction of Sassuolo in the Serie A on Wednesday.
Uros Racic drew the first blood for the home side in the 13th minute before Amir Rrahmani levelled for Napoli.
Osimhen then scored twice – Matteo Politano assisting both goals – to give Napoli a 3-1 lead before halftime.

Two minutes into the second half, Osimhen grabbed his hattrick after be was set up by Kvicha Kvaratskhelia. Four minutes later, Osimhen returned the favour, assisting Kvaratskhelia for Napoliās fifth goal of the entertaining encounter.
In the 75th minute, Kvaratskhelia scored the sixth goal to round off the massive victory at the Mapei Stadium. One minute later, 25-year-old Osimhen was taken off for Giovanni Simeone.
Since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Osimhen has scored five goals in three matches for Napoli.
Last Wednesday, Osimhen scored as Napoli drew 1-1 with Barcelona in first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.
On Sunday, his goal against Cagliari almost secured all three points for Partenopei if not for a late equaliser.
In total, Osimhen has scored 11 goals and accrued three assists in 15 Serie A matches for Napoli this season.
