Premier League clubs spent a record-breaking £2.44bn on new signings during the 2023 summer window. Elapsing the £2.14bn set in the preceding summer.
At the centre of this commercial exploits was Todd Boehly’s Chelsea, spending a staggering £434.5m on new signings. The likes of Moises Caicedo, Axel Disasi, Nico Jackson and many more joined the West London side.
While there were some high profile signings that garnered much attention over the period, there’s been a contingent that’s not been particularly noticed by the football faithful.

Tyler Adams

His debut came against Stoke City in the EFL cup and remains his only appearance for the club spanning a 20 minutes cameo off the bench. The £23million signing has since undergone two surgeries to get rid of a hamstring problem.
Gaffer Andoni Iraola has provided recent updates that the midfielder continues to edge closer to full fitness and might finally make a league appearance since his last with Leeds United coming in March 2023.
Mahmoud Dahoud
The German midfielder joined Roberto De Zerbi’s high flying Brighton and Hove Albion on a free transfer last summer.
Expected to be a like for like replacement for Alexis Mac Allister who joined Merseyside outfit Liverpool.
He was deemed surplus to requirements in South Coast, England making a total of fourteen appearances with six being starts. He’s since returned on loan to the German Bundesliga with VfB Stuttgart.
Sandro Tonali
The 23-year-old midfielder joined the Magpies over the summer in a deal entering the excess of £55 million.
With just 8 league appearances into his time with the club, he was charged with breaches of rules on betting on matches in Italy.
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) judged the Italian midfielder guilty on gambling regulations, and received a ban from all football-related events for 10 months, and an additional eight months of therapy-assisted rehabilitation.
Dele Alli
Alli, joined Everton in January 2022 in a bid to salvage what was left of his career at Tottenham Hotspur.
The two time PFA young player of the year winner returned to Merseyside after his loan stint with Besiktas in the Turkish Super League last summer.
Still yet to make an appearance this season as he continues to work his way back from a hip injury.
Club head coach, Sean Dyche declare earlier in the season that the club will do all possible to help get past his off the field issues and help him return to competitive action.
