The Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan has strengthened its technical department ahead of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) run-in with the appointment of Lebanese coach Ali Kandil.
The club officially welcomed Kandil to the “Oluyole Warriors.” This move aims to fortify the technical bench for the critical second half of the season.
Ali Kandil arrives at the Ibadan-based club from his recent role as Head Coach of NPFL side Ikorodu City FC. During his tenure there, he oversaw 19 league matches, securing 8 wins, 8 draws, and 3 losses.
He is recognized for his tactical preference for an attacking 4-3-3 formation. Beyond his coaching certificates, Kandil holds academic diplomas in Football Business and Digital Marketing in Sports. This brings a modern perspective to the technical crew.
This appointment represents a strategic reunion, as Kandil will now work under Shooting Stars’ head coach, Nurudeen Aweroro.

The two previously collaborated last season at Ikorodu City, suggesting a foundation of existing understanding and shared tactical ideas.
The club’s management believes adding Kandil’s expertise will provide deeper technical options. It will improve in-game management and foster greater consistency in results during the league’s decisive phase.
The immediate focus for Kandil and the refreshed technical crew will be the upcoming NPFL fixtures. They start with a challenging encounter against Enyimba FC.
