Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has revealed her personal approach to relationships, explaining that her feelings toward men differ from what many expect.
Speaking on a TV show hosted by fellow actress Ayo Adesanya, Bakare discussed her perspective on love and living arrangements before marriage.
She stated that she has never allowed a man to live in her home and has no plans to start. Instead, she interacts with men through liking, appreciation, and respect, rather than romantic love.
Bakare also outlined her expectations for marriage. She insists that any man who wants to marry her must follow traditional customs, including paying her bride price. She believes that a man should take full responsibility and that marriage involves him bringing his wife into his home.

Despite being described as possibly not romantic, Bakare stood firm, insisting that cultural expectations and responsibility are central to her idea of marriage.
She said: “I don’t love but like, appreciate and respect men. I have never accommodated a man in my home before and I will never do it. A man who wants to marry me should pay my bride price. I prefer spending time in the man’s house rather than accommodating him in my home. A man should be responsible. He should pay my bride price and take me home.”
