“Adulthood taught me that I am not special”- Twitter user ruminates on life as an adult

A Twitter user identified as NonsotheGirl has taken to the microblogging site to reflect on her life journey as an adult.

In her tweet, the Twitter user stated how life transitioned for her immensely for her over the years. Interestingly, she mentioned that the transition has not emerged as she expected, instead, it has been a conundrum.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday, January 21, the X writer wrote:

“Adulthood taught me that I am not special. I grew up receiving praises for my intelligence/brilliance from everybody. I went for competitions, won an ‘overall best’ award in a public secondary school that had over 100 of us in a class. A lot was expected of me and-“

She continued, “as an intelligent child/teenager who loved to read, everyone simply figured that I’d do great as an adult. I believed the same too. All I had to do was go to school and things would fall in place for me. Being unable to attend a university was life’s first lesson”

“I blamed all of my failures on that fact. “If I had gone to school I’d be doing better” “If I had a degree I’d not be at this point.” I was special after all, I was the intelligent kid, things were supposed to align for me. Or so I thought,” she added.
