AI glasses: Meta explores facial recognition

Meta is developing AI glasses with facial recognition, enabling real-time identification and context-aware assistance through always-on sensors.

The glasses, codenamed Aperol and Bellini, are set for release next year. They feature “super-sensing” capabilities, allowing the AI to recognize individuals by name and provide context-aware tasks, such as reminders for groceries or keys.

Activated by the command “Hey Meta, start live AI,” the feature is currently being tested on existing models. However, the battery life is limited to just 30 minutes. Meta aims to significantly extend battery performance in the new versions.
