Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has given the go-ahead for road construction covering all 18 local government areas in Ondo State.
Each council will see five kilometres of road built under the new plan, bringing the first phase to a total of 90 kilometres.
The governor’s approval, which came on Friday, August 22, 2025, places commissioners in charge of choosing key routes in their areas and supervising the work to ensure quality and transparency.

Speaking on the project, Aiyedatiwa explained that the initiative was designed to benefit every part of the state.
“The project was designed to reflect inclusivity and fairness, with every part of the state benefiting simultaneously,” he said.
He stressed that his administration wants balanced development so that no area feels neglected.
