Aiyedatiwa assures timely completion of Ondo judiciary complex

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on the new Ondo State Judiciary Complex in Akure, assuring that the project will be completed as scheduled.

Aiyedatiwa made the remarks on Saturday during an unscheduled inspection visit to the construction site at the High Court Complex.

He was accompanied by the Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Abiola Olawoye.

The project, named after the late former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, was flagged off on 27 December 2024 with a 48-week completion timeline.

The complex is expected to house a ceremonial court, modular courts, a registry, a library, exhibition spaces, a utility building, and modern parking facilities.

It is designed to enhance the administration and dispensation of justice in the state.

Speaking after the inspection, Aiyedatiwa commended the contractors for maintaining high standards and adhering to the project timeline.

“I am happy with how the project is going. From what I have seen today, the work is progressing rapidly and to a high standard. This is an indication that it will be completed as planned,” he said.

“I received a report from the Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Lands and Housing confirming that the project is on track both in terms of time and budget. We set a target of one year for completion, and we are committed to achieving that.”

The governor’s visit came shortly after he attended the sitting of the Ondo State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal at the same complex.

The tribunal adjourned proceedings to 4 June for judgment after hearing closing statements from the parties involved.
