Aiyedatiwa rejigs Ondo Civil Service with 34 appointments

In a major move to strengthen the administrative engine of Ondo State, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has approved the appointment and confirmation of 32 new Permanent Secretaries.

The announcement, released on Monday by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan, marks a significant expansion of the state’s top-tier civil service leadership.

The appointments, which include a diverse mix of seasoned professionals across various sectors, are aimed at injecting fresh energy into the state’s ministries and agencies.

The list of 32 Permanent Secretaries features prominent names such as Tayo Ogundare, Tope Lebile, and Akindele Ige, among others.

These appointments signal the Governor’s intent to reward merit and ensure stability within the bureaucratic framework of the “Sunshine State.”

Beyond the Permanent Secretaries, Aiyedatiwa also filled two critical statutory roles to bolster fiscal and data-driven governance Olusola Ajayi was confirmed as the Statistician-General, and Charles Ojuolape was appointed as the Auditor-General for Local Governments.

Ojuolape’s appointment is pending final clearance by the Ondo State House of Assembly.

According to the official statement, all appointments and confirmations took retrospective effect from February 1, 2026.

While the new leaders have technically assumed their roles on paper, the state government noted that a formal swearing-in ceremony will be scheduled shortly.

The specific date for the inauguration is expected to be announced by the governor’s office in the coming days.A total of 32 permanent secretaries have been appointed.

Additionally, 2 statutory positions have been filled. All appointments take effect from 1 February 2026.

The appointments were authorised by Aiyedatiwa.

This sweeping administrative update is widely viewed as a strategic step by the Aiyedatiwa administration to ensure the seamless delivery of public services and the effective implementation of government policies across the state.
