American music producer Slikk Muzik has named his newborn daughter after Nigerian singer Ayra Starr, drawing a warm reaction from the Afrobeats star.
Slikk Muzik, who has won four Grammy Awards, announced the arrival of his baby girl on Instagram on Tuesday, September 21, 2026. He revealed that he had named the child Ayra Starr Offord.
The producer shared photos of his newborn daughter and introduced her to his followers with the message, “Ayra Starr Offord. 09:21:26. Daddy loves you 4L.”
The choice of name quickly attracted attention because of its connection to the Nigerian singer, whose music has continued to gain audiences outside Africa.
Slikk Muzik did not give a detailed explanation for naming his daughter after the singer.
However, the gesture has been seen as a personal tribute to Ayra Starr and a reflection of her growing profile in the international music scene.

Ayra Starr acknowledged the gesture on Wednesday after sharing Slikk Muzik’s Instagram post on her Instagram Story.
The singer responded to the naming with the message, “Love you twin.”
Slikk Muzik, whose real name is Rickey Offord, is a Dallas-born music producer and songwriter.
He has worked with several major artistes, including Ariana Grande, Chris Brown, Toni Braxton and Tamar Braxton.
His production credits also extend to gospel music, with some of his work appearing on Grammy-winning projects.

Ayra Starr, whose real name is Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, was discovered by Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy and signed to the label in 2021.
She gained wider recognition with songs including Rush, which earned her a nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
The singer received another nomination in the same category for Gimme Dat, her collaboration with Wizkid, at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
In August 2026, Ayra Starr released her third studio album, Starrgirl. The 16-track project features artistes including ZAYN, Wizkid, Rema, Leon Thomas, KWN, Danny Ocean and Theodora.
The album came after her 2021 debut project, 19 & Dangerous, and her 2024 album, The Year I Turned 21.
Ayra Starr has also recorded major streaming figures as her international audience continues to grow.
According to Universal Music Canada, the singer has surpassed seven billion global streams and one billion YouTube views.
She has won three MOBO Awards and has become the first African woman to win Best International Act.
