This year, we have had some Nigerian women facing backlash and have trended on the internet for the wrong reasons. Some of women’s problems have stemmed from their relationship with some men. There have been recent back-to-back lists.
It seems a week doesn’t pass without this kind of gossip oozing from some corner of the internet. These issues concern not only prominent social media influencers but also the young wife of a politician, a female lawmaker, and an actress.
Anne Idibia
Anne Idibia was trending in January because of her appearance in Young, Famous, and African. She appeared high on drugs and as if her mental health was wanting. Fans of the show asked that she should leave the show because she was oozing out forms of negativity and toxicity. Some said she takes out her marriage problems on other casts of the show.
People’s observance led to the divulgence of different information. Anne was unhappy in her marriage because of her husband, 2face Idibia’s mistreatment. The 49-year-old musician is technically a woman wrapper always involved with other women despite being married to Anne with three kids. Even after having a miscarriage of twin last year, her husband 2face Idibia took no mercy on her and humiliated her on the internet.
Amidst her being dragged by people on the internet, her husband decided to drop a bombshell. He announced that he was divorced from Anne. Within a few days, he proposed to Natasha, a female lawmaker, Edo State politician, and member of the Edo State House of Assembly
According to reliable sources on the internet, Anne Idibia amidst the incident was in a rehabilitation center.
A lot of female celebrities were in strong solidarity with Anne Idibia showering her with love and prayers. A big lesson was learned from the scenario as women should not surround their lives with men alone but build their dependence outside of them. Even after spending a lot of time wadding off men of her man, the African Queen could not stop her husband from cheating on her.
Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan
When the female lawmaker, Natasha claimed that she was sexually harassed by Godswill Akapabio on Arise TV, everyone thought that would be the fall of the mighty man. However, it felt like Natasha’s claim didn’t stand as Akapabio’s wife slammed back with a N250m lawsuit against Natasha. Akapabio’s wife, in her response, has insinuated the lawmaker’s claim is defaming.
When she made the claim, it could not thrive as Godswill Akapabio denied the claim. The 45-year-old female lawmaker’s petition did not even thrive in the Senate House. The Cable terms it as ‘dead on arrival ‘. Akapabio argues that he is of good repute and behavior as his mother trained him well.
