Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who emerged victorious in the All Progressive Congress (APC) primary election, has urged all his opponents to join forces for the party’s victory.
Governor Aiyedatiwa clinched victory in the primary election on Monday, surpassing contenders such as Wale Akinterinwa, Olusola Oke, Jimoh Ibrahim, and others.
Accepting his nomination to represent the party in the November governorship election, the governor emphasized, “Now, more than ever, the prosperity of Ondo State is paramount.”
“I therefore request that we all join hands together in building the future that we all yearn for in Ondo state. There is infrastructure to be built; better healthcare services to be delivered; fair justice to be served; qualitative education to be ensured; civil servants to be trained and motivated; security of lives and properties to be strengthened; enabling environment to be created for businesses to thrive and attract investors.”

He said, “Democracy comes with discordant tunes after a contest, but it is not the time to hold grudges against anyone. Instead, it is time to come together to work for the success of the party to remain in power.”
The governor emphasized that everyone had contested the primary, and others would have their chance in the APC at different times, provided faith is kept alive.
“I salute your courage and a keen interest in leading the State towards development. It is your right, and you are qualified and worthy members of our party.”

Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, and others for their support in his emergence as the party’s flag-bearer in the forthcoming governorship election.
