First of all, this is to say that Twitter/X feminists are not feminists. Most of them are just women going through rough love relationships and perhaps relationship-starved.
A lot of people feel betrayed because so-called feminists are falling in love and getting married. These hard-core women are those who even cry when they get proposed to. Feminism is not hating men, and the standards of true feminism are not stipulated by any of the so-called X feminists.
Feminism is not a war waged against men but against the wrong tenets of society. So when a so-called feminist says she hates men, she is just a man-hater, not a feminist. If you follow her speech and distance yourself from men, you will be disappointed. These women in this category do not like men until they find someone who loves them and proposes. They start to get loved up and slowly turn back from hating men to loving their man.
Feminism might just be one of the misused terms in the world
I am not going to be taking a crash course on what feminism is, but I will be talking about what feminism is not. Before you call yourself a feminist or use the term, you should know what it entails. If you were sexually harassed and you wrap your hatred of your harasser into the term feminism, then you are wrong. If you hate men because of your history with them and channel it into a status you call being a feminist, then you are wrong.
Feminism has become one of the misconceived and abused concepts. Just like democracy, just because there are bad democratic leaders does not make democracy bad. In this part of the world, feminism has become a negative term on its own just because the supposed thought leader of the cause does not know the real cause of the struggle.

Critically speaking, it is the abuse of freedom of speech that contributes to the feminist issue we have on the ground. Women take out time to rant about a failed relationship and use ‘men’ to describe a man who failed them in a relationship. X, formerly known as Twitter, has become a diary app where people express unguarded thoughts and drop their wildest thoughts as a tweet. Girl, these things you say are meant for a therapist or someone you are comfortable not the whole world Elon Musk brought together on an app.
Fisayo Longe as case study
Truth be told, this proposal is really cute and lovely.
Seriously, I did not know who Fisayo Longe was until she got proposed to a few days ago. It was supposed to be an ‘Awww, congratulations’ moment, but the comments section was full of criticisms. She is seen as a Twitter feminist-her ideologies that deem her as one were based on her indifference for the institution of marriage and disdain for men.
Her tweets concerning men and marriage are disturbing, such that you will not think she can agree to a marriage proposal. She led a narrative that marriage is salvery. If it were, then the matriarch of true feminism in Nigeria, Chimamanda Adichie, would not be achieving dreams that count in her husband’s house.

I feel like people do not know how substantial their views are on the internet. Everyone tries to associate or feel in sync with an online personality, especially Gen Z. It is overly absurd how some people steer the course of their lives through the dictates of an insincere tweet.
This is a wake-up call to anyone who is trying to steer the course of their lives according to the tweets of an online personality. People are different in real life from what they are online. Most of the people on X, for example, tweet anything to get a bit of Elon Musk’s money.
When Fisayo was identifying as a ‘pseudo-feminist’, she was probably betrayed in love and documenting her pains and differences. She now calls the days of going back and forth with Nigerian men on Twitter”. She was never against the gender-biased society, she just had a problem with men from experience.
#Justice for men#
Until a woman finds a man who truly understands and loves her, she sees men are incapable of loving and truthful. She just needs one man to show her true love. Men do not rant about women in their tweets or call them names like women do. The men species is regarded as evil and heartless. Yet, day in and day out, ladies cry profusely as their man proposes to them. Well, let us give it another day to try to understand why women cry at their engagement proposals. Justice for the men!
When men talk about women in a demeaning manner, there are wagging tongues. But the truth, we are not solving the gender equality problems, but allowing it to thrive in another form, misandry. If a women tweet, ‘men are scums’ along with other demeaning comments, she probably goes scotfree with a lot of supportive comments. The men in the comments section trying to defend their reputation are lambasted.
I think social media apps should implement a strict policy on gender demeaning comments. People can either write their hurtful comments against a gender in their diary or tell their therapists. Enough of the misleading tweets on the internet.
Lastly, feminism is not against men but the societal tenets that prefer one gender over the other. If you do not know what it is, do not call yourself one.
