Mikel Arteta has agreed a new long-term contract with Arsenal.
The deal includes a significant pay rise and extends his stay into at least a tenth year at the club. Formal steps to complete the agreement will follow.
Arteta’s previous contract was set to expire at the end of this season. The new deal removes that uncertainty, as Arsenal have moved quickly to secure the manager who ended their 20-year wait for a Premier League title.
