Lagos State College of Nursing (LASCON), Igando, has ushered in a new era with the swearing-in of Dr Ayodeji Ogunmuyiwa as its substantive Provost.
During her inaugural speech, Ogunmuyiwa committed to enhancing LASCON’s academic and professional standards.
She also aimed to produce graduates who are competitive on a global scale and well-prepared to address the dynamic healthcare challenges of Lagos State and beyond.
Highlighting the institution’s vital role in supplying highly skilled health professionals to meet the state’s healthcare needs, the new Provost pledged to elevate LASCON’s profile both nationally and internationally.

She further emphasised her dedication to ensuring a consistent and uninterrupted academic calendar.
“There is much work ahead,” Ogunmuyiwa remarked at the official ceremony.
“To raise the standard of nursing education in this institution, and across the State, we must all collaborate. The task is challenging but achievable.”
Echoing this sentiment, Adeniran Kasali, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tertiary Education, called on all staff members to support the new Provost’s vision.
He encouraged collective effort to enhance the College’s reputation and competitiveness within the tertiary education sector.
Rashidat Adams, Head of Administration and Human Resources at LASCON, warmly welcomed Ogunmuyiwa, assuring her of the staff’s full support and cooperation.
Ogunmuyiwa takes over from Mrs Anuoluwapo Priestley, who served as Acting Provost before her appointment.
