Nigerian music star Ayra Starr has reached a major milestone on Spotify, becoming the first African female artist to amass five million followers on the platform.
The singer, whose full name is Sarah Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, continues to break boundaries in the music industry, marking a new record for African female artists on the global streaming service.
Known for her hit single “Rush,” Ayra Starr recently crossed the 5 million follower mark on Spotify, cementing her influence in the digital music space.
However, when it comes to total streams, she still ranks behind fellow Nigerian artist Tems. While Ayra Starr has garnered 2.7 billion streams across all credits, Tems leads with 3.8 billion streams.

Born in Benin Republic, Ayra Starr rose to international fame in 2022 following the success of “Rush.” She is signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records and first gained widespread attention after releasing her debut EP in January 2021.
