Afrobeats star Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, has received honorary membership of the Lagos Motor Boat Club.
The club hosted a private induction ceremony in Ikoyi, Lagos, where members celebrated the singer’s influence and presence within the city’s elite waterfront community.
During the event, the club’s Commodore, Babasola Alokolaro, presented Wizkid with a certificate of membership and a captain’s hat.

The honour comes shortly after Wizkid delivered an exclusive performance at the club’s New Year’s Eve Gala, where he thrilled guests with popular songs such as Monkey Constant and Jaiye Jaiye.
Established in 1950, the Lagos Motor Boat Club stands as one of Nigeria’s most exclusive social clubs, with membership largely reserved for boat owners, corporate bodies and long-established families. By granting Wizkid honorary membership, the club made a rare exception.
The induction places Wizkid among Lagos’ high society and further strengthens his influence beyond the music industry.
