Two top staff members of Government Day Secondary School, Kirfi, in Bauchi State have been demoted after being found guilty of misconduct involving the sale of school property without approval.
The Bauchi State Teachers Service Commission announced on Thursday that the school’s principal, Malam Musa Ahmed, and a senior teacher, Malam Adamu Shehu, were punished after a committee looked into the case.
The commission said both men worked together to sell 32 scrapped student beds, nine jumbo aluminum pots, and some roofing zinc without clearance from the state Ministry of Education.
The committee, made up of four members, submitted its findings to the commission, leading to the approval of their demotion by one grade.
