Big Brother Naija has paid tribute to three former housemates who have passed away — Francisca Owumi, Joseph Ada, and Rico Swavey.
During Monday’s live show, the current season’s contestants observed a minute of silence as pictures of the late reality TV stars were displayed on screen in their honour.
Francisca Owumi, who was runner-up in the show’s debut edition in 2006, was celebrated for her lively spirit and love for dance. She died in 2024 after battling an illness.

Joseph “Joe” Ada, also a contestant in the 2006 season, was remembered following his death in May 2023 after health complications.
Patrick Fakoya, popularly known as Rico Swavey, who featured in the 2018 Double Wahala season, was equally honoured.
He was known for his creativity and calm personality before his life was cut short in a car accident in 2022.
The solemn tribute served as a reminder of the legacies each of the late housemates left behind in the BBNaija franchise.
