Broda Shaggy shot while filming skit, rushed to hospital

Popular Nigerian comedian and skit maker, Samuel Perry, widely known as Broda Shaggy, has been admitted to hospital after he reportedly suffered a gunshot injury in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.

The incident reportedly happened on Sunday afternoon under the Sango-Ota bridge while the entertainer was working on a comedy skit.

Information gathered showed that the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting are still unclear.

However, a police source said the content creator was injured during the filming process at the location.

After the incident, members of his crew quickly moved him to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos State, where medical workers attended to him and gave him initial treatment.

Further findings later showed that the comedian was transferred from the first hospital to Duchess Hospital located in the Government Residential Area of Ikeja, Lagos State.

He is said to be receiving further medical attention there while recovering from the injury.

The Lagos State Police Command confirmed that officers became aware of the situation after they were contacted by the hospital where the injured entertainer was first taken.

Police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi said detectives and a patrol team were sent to the hospital after the report was received.

When officers arrived, they found that the injured person was the well-known skit maker Broda Shaggy.

She said he was seen on a stretcher with an injury on his thigh. According to her, the shooting reportedly took place in Sango-Ota, which is outside the jurisdiction of the Lagos command, but investigations have started.

When contacted for more information, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the police in the state had not received any official report about the incident.
