Buhari confers national awards on 447 recipients

On Tuesday, October 11, President Muhammadu Buhari conferred national awards on 447 recipients in Abuja.

Specifically, the event was established to celebrate notable Nigerians who have carved a niche in different sectors. They were rewarded for their contribution to the country and serving as ambassadors to the nation both home and abroad.

Among those awarded national honors are Senate President Ahmed Lawan, Ooni of Ife HRM Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, Olu of Warri HRM Ogiame Atuwatse III, State Chief of Protocol Amb. Lawal Kazaure, EbonyLife CEO Mo Abudu, Special Adviser Media & Publicity Mr Femi Adesina, SA Presidential Matters Sabiu Tunde and Imam Abdullahi Abubakar (Imam who saved 300 Christians in Plateau State).

While Lawan got the Honour of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), the Olu of Warri and Ooni of Ife got the Honour of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR).

Kazaure got the Honour of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR), Imam Abubakar and Adesina got the Honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
