Bose Ogulu, the mother and manager of Nigerian music star Burna Boy, has encouraged the Grammy-winning artiste to think about marriage and starting a family.
Mrs Ogulu made the remark during Burna Boy’s 35th birthday celebration on July 2, where the singer marked the occasion in the company of family members and close associates.
A video from the gathering, shared on Snapchat by Burna Boy’s associate Richie 7, captured a light-hearted moment when the singer was asked to state his birthday wishes.
“I wish for good health and prosperity,” the singer said when asked to make a wish.
His mother inferred, “Add good wife and children.”

Burna Boy has previously spoken about his decision to remain unmarried and not have children at this stage of his life. In an interview a few years ago, the Afrobeats star explained that his demanding career has made it difficult for him to dedicate the time and attention required for family life.
He also noted that he does not want to have children outside marriage or raise children without being actively involved in their upbringing, stressing that his current commitments as one of Africa’s leading musicians leave little room for such responsibilities.
