The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has awarded Egypt the hosting rights for the 2025 CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Recall NRTC had earlier reported Ivory Coast’s withdrawal just one month to kickoff of the tournament. CAF confirmed the Ivorian Football Federation and the Government of Ivory Coast withdrew from being hosts due to unforeseen circumstances.

CAF confirmed the new host in a media release on Thursday, March 27, 2025, stating that the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) and the Egyptian government will now organise the tournament.

The tournament’s opening match is set for April 27, 2025, while the final will take place on May 18, 2025. Further details regarding preparations are expected to be released soon.
