Interestingly, both players also scored the goals in their 2-0 win against Heartland FC of Owerri some days back.

Interestingly for the hosts, they remain undefeated in their last seven NPFL meetings with Enyimba.

Speaking after the match, head coach Daniel Ogunmodede praised his boys for delivering maximum points.

When asked if it was the kind of performance he required of his players, the gaffer said “almost”.

“Playing against Enyimba, one of the giants of Africa and the giant of Nigeria. Their records speak for them,” Ogunmodede said.

He added: “They have a top manager in Eguma (Stanley) and considering the position they are – fighting for their lives presently. So they came with a very big fight and at the time we also needed maximum three points, so you should expect what the match would look like.”

“Every game is important”

Speaking on the next games and a chance to get a run-in to the title, the Super Eagles assistant coach stated his team will give maximum fight in every game.

“Every game is important for us. We will not consider the status or standing of our opponents because all that matters to us is getting maximum three points,” Ogunmodede said.
