Nigerian skit maker and livestreamer Shank Comics has stirred conversation online after stating that comedians in Nigeria often earn more money than music artists.
Speaking during a recent livestream session, the entertainer said many people believe musicians are wealthier mainly because they publicly display their riches more frequently than comedians.
According to him, the perception that music artists are richer is largely influenced by their lifestyle choices, especially their tendency to showcase luxury items such as exotic cars.
Shank Comics pointed out that popular Nigerian comedians Bovi and Basketmouth are wealthier than several Afrobeats stars, including Asake, Wizkid, and Burna Boy. However, he suggested that comedians generally prefer investing their money rather than spending it on luxury vehicles or other extravagant items.
