A Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday cleared former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, of all allegations related to money laundering and fraud.

The case was filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which accused him of mismanaging public funds during his time in office.

The court ruled in Fayose’s favour after reviewing the evidence presented by the prosecution.

The judge agreed with his legal team’s argument that there was no solid case to answer.

This means the trial will not continue, as the court found no reason for him to defend the accusations.

Fayose had faced trial for several years over claims that he was involved in the misuse of N2.2 billion.

With this decision, the court has officially brought the case to an end, freeing him from all charges.
