Customs operators in Imo, Abia pledge support for new controller

Licensed bonded terminal operators in the Imo/Abia Customs Area Command have promised to collaborate with the new Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Blessing Ihenacho, to improve trade facilitation and stimulate economic growth.

The pledge was made during a recent courtesy visit to Comptroller Ihenacho in Owerri, following her official assumption of duty as the command’s 26th Customs Area Controller.

The delegation included representatives from several bonded terminals, such as Val & Goods, Middle & Cardo, B&O, and Mevic Bonded Terminals.

In her remarks, Ihenacho expressed gratitude for the warm reception and assured the operators that their operational challenges would be addressed in line with the Nigeria Customs Service’s mandate.

However, she also emphasised the importance of compliance, urging the operators to strictly adhere to all customs regulations and the rules governing bonded terminal operations to ensure a seamless and efficient process.
