Nigerian content creator and streamer, Carter Efe, has revealed that Afrobeats superstar, Davido, helped him earn the highest amount of money he has ever made from a single livestream.
Carter disclosed this during a recent episode of the Cocktails & Takeaways podcast, where he discussed his journey in streaming, his relationship with Davido, and the growing creator economy in Nigeria.
According to the streamer, Davido’s appearance on one of his livestreams drew a massive audience and had a major impact on his earnings from the session.
”Davido made me the biggest money of my life on a stream in one night. I became a big boy overnight,” he said.
The content creator’s revelation comes amid the increasing popularity of livestreaming as a source of income for Nigerian digital creators, with collaborations involving major celebrities often attracting large audiences.
In December 2025, Davido appeared alongside Carter during a Twitch livestream that reportedly recorded more than 80,000 viewers at the same time.
The collaboration also reportedly resulted in a substantial rise in Carter’s followers and subscribers on the platform.
Carter Efe, whose real name is Oderhohwo Efe, first gained attention through comedy and music before venturing deeper into livestreaming and digital entertainment.
His career reflects the growing influence of Nigeria’s creator economy, which has opened up new opportunities for young people to earn money, build businesses and reach audiences beyond the country.
The expansion of livestreaming and other digital platforms has also changed the Nigerian entertainment space, allowing creators to monetise their audiences while working with established musicians, celebrities and brands.
