A mild protest took place on Monday at the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja when Nollywood actor and House of Representatives aspirant, Emeka Ike, showed up to complain about the outcome of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primary election for the Abuja Municipal Area Council seat.
Emeka Ike, who recently entered the race for a seat in the House of Representatives, went to the INEC office to raise concerns about how the party primary was conducted. He claimed there were problems and unfair practices during the election process.
Reports also showed that he did not win the party’s primary election.

While speaking during the protest, he expressed strong anger over the process and insisted that he would not keep quiet about what happened.

He said he was a contestant and a Nigerian citizen who has the right to demand fairness in the electoral process.
He also made it clear that he would continue to push the matter and would not let it go without a response from the relevant authorities.
“We don’t have an address when the election is going on. I am an aspirant, I’m a Nigerian.
“You won’t go away with this. I don’t do social media activism. INEC will not escape this,” he said.
