Folarin Falana, the Nigerian rapper and actor popularly known as Falz, has revealed that he may not raise his future children in Nigeria.

He cited concerns over security, economic instability, and the threats he faces due to his activism as reasons behind his uncertainty.

Falz made the disclosure during a recent appearance on the Dear Ife Series Podcast, hosted by Ifedayo Agoro.

When asked by the host, “Would you raise your children in Nigeria if you were going to have any?” Falz responded:

“Ah! That’s a deep question. I didn’t expect to here this question. I haven’t really thought that far, let me not lie.

“But it’s something that I can’t actually said ‘yes’ to because of what we are talking about [the insecurity in the country, threats due to my activism, and Nigerians’ docility].

“It’s something I cannot outrightly say ‘yes’ to. And it’s so sad. But I can’t also outrightly say ‘no’ because I’m pro-Nigerian and I really believe that we can actually get it right. But I don’t know, I don’t know, but let’s see [laughs].”

Although he is currently single and does not have any children, the rapper’s remarks reflect the concerns many young Nigerians share about raising families amid growing uncertainty in the country.

Falz began his musical journey during his secondary school days, forming a group called The School Boys with a friend. He launched his professional music career in 2009 and has since become known for his thought-provoking lyrics and bold activism.
