Nollywood actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo has announced plans to produce a sequel to his 2024 miniseries, Seven Doors, following the strong reception and award success recorded by the original production.
Adebayo made his directorial debut with the six-part series, which was released in December 2024.
The production later received recognition at several Nigerian film award events and became one of the projects that added to Adebayo’s growing profile as a filmmaker.

Speaking during an interview on VJ Adams Live, the actor explained that reviewing his previous projects is part of his preparation whenever he wants to work on a new film.

He said he studies his earlier productions to understand what worked well and where changes can be made in subsequent projects.
According to him, he has returned to Seven Doors as he prepares for the planned sequel.
He explained that watching the original production again would help him approach the next instalment with a better understanding of the story and improve on areas that may not have been handled as well as he would have wanted.
Adebayo also revealed that he pays attention to reactions from viewers after his films are released.
He said he reads both positive and negative comments from audiences because such feedback can help him make better decisions when working on future projects.
The filmmaker has previously used the same approach while preparing sequels to some of his other productions.
He reviewed the original versions of Jagun Jagun and Ageshinkole before working on their follow-up projects.
Seven Doors has also enjoyed success at major Nigerian entertainment award ceremonies.
At the 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, the production secured wins in the Best Lead Actor and Best Lead Actress categories.
The series also recorded four victories at the 2025 Best of Nollywood Awards. Its awards included Best Production Design, Best Special Effect, Best Series and Best Cinematography.
