The minister commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his proactive efforts in advancing the project in Ondo State.

He stressed that the project is not politically motivated but rather intended to significantly enhance the socio-economic well-being of the regionā€™s residents.

Umahi reiterated the administrationā€™s dedication to close collaboration with Governor Aiyedatiwa, underscoring that the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway represents President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to the welfare of all Nigerians, beyond political affiliations.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to the Minister for engaging with local stakeholders and highlighted the projectā€™s transformative potential.

He explained that the extensive highway will link multiple states, bridging Nigeriaā€™s western and southeastern regions, improving cross-country connectivity, and fostering stronger trade relations.

The governor assured stakeholders that the project would be closely monitored to ensure effective implementation and sustained progress, adding, ā€œThis will not be one of those projects that get abandoned. This road will bring tremendous benefits to the people of Ondo State, and we are fully committed to partnering with the Federal Government to make it a reality.ā€

Governor Aiyedatiwa also revealed that the state government is collaborating with the Federal Government on protection and restoration initiatives at Aiyetoro in Ilaje Local Government Area.
