The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara on Tuesday, handed down advice to corps members who completed their mandatory three-week camping exercise in the state.

Juliana Masi, Head of the Information and Public Relations Unit in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, said in a statement that Fubara was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Benibo Anabraba.

Fubara urged the 2025 Batch C corps members to leave enduring legacies that would stand the test of time in the host communities where they were posted.

He gave the advice on Tuesday during the closing ceremony of the orientation course for corps members deployed to the state at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Nonwa-Gbam Tai.

Fubara also charged the corps members to demonstrate patriotism and selflessness in rendering quality service to the people of the state.

He assured them of the state’s love and hospitality and announced the immediate and comprehensive renovation of camp facilities to provide corps members with a more conducive environment for their camping exercise as “elite youths and leaders of tomorrow.”

However, the State Coordinator, Moses Oleghe, described the three-week camping exercise as hugely “impactful, fruitful and rewarding” in the lives of the corps members.

He noted that the exercise enriched their experiences and redirected their consciousness towards nationalistic ideals and values.

He charged them to serve with respect, commitment and integrity in their Places of Primary Assignment across communities in the 23 LGAs of the state.
