Nigerian senator and businessman, Ned Nwoko, has sparked fresh debate online after likening monogamy to “standing on one leg.”
The politician, who is currently reported to be in a marital crisis with his fourth wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, made the remark during an interview on Channels Television with Seun Okinbaloye on Sunday night.
While defending his choice to have multiple wives, Nwoko explained that his belief in polygamy stems from the “difficulty of standing on a single leg.”
“Just imagine telling you to stand on one leg, you know how difficult it is. But it is much more balanced to stand on two, three, or four. I feel sorry for those with one wife. I don’t have any regrets, and I will do the same thing again,” the lawmaker stated.

His comments come amid ongoing speculation about his troubled relationship with Regina Daniels. The actress had recently gone viral after reportedly accusing Nwoko of domestic violence in a circulating video.
In response, the Delta-born senator alleged that Regina had been involved in substance abuse.
Adding to the rumours, Regina on Sunday evening shared a photo of herself standing on the balcony of a new home, fueling speculation that she might have moved out of their marital residence.
The post was captioned, “I needed a roof over my head,” prompting online buzz that she may have acquired a new house in Lagos State.
The unfolding situation continues to draw public attention as both parties remain silent on whether the move officially marks the end of their marriage.
