Turn Off Your Apple Watch
Like the iPhone, the Apple watch can be turned off using the Side button. First, raise your wrist to wake the Apple watch. Next, press and hold the Side button.

The Side button is placed beneath Digital Crown. If you own an Apple Watch Ultra, then you should be extra cautious not to confuse it with the orange colored Action button.
At the bottom of the screen, when a side button is pressed for some moments, you will see the menu with the Medical ID and Compass Backtrack functions in the top right corner of the menu there is the On/Off symbol. If you wish to turn off your Apple watch swipe the power icon moving from the left to the right-hand side.
